Terms of service
These terms apply when an independent tattoo studio ("you") signs up to a Hot Black Ink plan. Hot Black Ink ("we") is run by Iain Thompson, a sole trader in the UK. Contact: hello@hotblackink.com.
The service
We provide the marketing services in the plan you choose, as described on our website or agreed in writing: Fresh Ink, Flash Day or Full Sleeve. AI tools help us do the work, and a person oversees it.
Your approval
Nothing goes live without your sign-off. We send posts, ads and other content to you first, and we only publish once you approve. You can ask for changes before you approve.
Fees
Fresh Ink is £149 a month, Flash Day is £299 a month and Full Sleeve is £499 a month, unless we agree a different price in writing (for example, a founding offer). Fees are paid monthly in advance. If a payment is late, we may pause work until it's paid.
Ad spend
Ad budgets are separate from our fees. You pay the ad platforms (such as Meta or Google) directly, and we don't keep any of it. Flash Day and Full Sleeve need a minimum ad budget of £100 a month. We won't spend more than the budget you approve.
Cancellation
Plans roll monthly. You can cancel at any time by giving 30 days' notice by email to hello@hotblackink.com. We can end the service the same way. Either of us can end it straight away if the other seriously breaks these terms.
Your artwork and content
You confirm that you own, or have permission to use, all artwork, photos, logos and other content you give us, and that we may use it for your marketing. That includes permission from your artists and from clients shown in photos. You're responsible if content you supply infringes someone else's rights. We create original work and won't copy other artists' work.
Ownership of our work
Once you've paid for it, you can use the content we make for you to market your studio.
No guaranteed results
We'll do the work with reasonable care and skill. Results depend on things we can't control, like platform algorithms, ad markets and your bookings, so we can't guarantee followers, enquiries, bookings or revenue.
Liability
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Otherwise, we're not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business or goodwill, or for indirect losses. Our total liability to you is limited to the fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
Your data
We handle personal data as set out in our privacy policy.
Changes
We may update these terms. We'll give you at least 30 days' notice of any change that affects you, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
Law
These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
